This morning I spent time researching Internet Marketing guru types and it's striking how dramatically the landscape has shifted in the last half-decade.

You see, during the late 2010s, entrepreneurs were still working out these strategies.

Specifically, most people viewed their core business as their primary income source.

However, with Instagram's emergence, everything transformed.

Thanks to IG and TikTok, the Influencer economy was created.

Certainly, Facebook established the groundwork.

Yet until recently, Facebook remained primarily text-based.

Due to this limitation, it never truly became the preferred platform for Personal Brand development.

Rather, Personal Branding gained momentum precisely when Instagram began worrying about TikTok's rapid growth. This concern led IG to embrace a more video-centric (and TikTok-inspired) approach.

That subtle transformation created a completely new entrepreneurial pathway:

  1. Build success using a conventional business approach

  2. Showcase your lifestyle across social platforms to grow an audience while sharing your business model

  3. Generate 5-10x your business income by selling information and coaching that teaches others to launch and scale similar ventures

Sound familiar?

It should.

From eCommerce to micro-SaaS, this exact framework powers nearly everyone in the digital marketing realm to reach elite lifestyle status.

Do some people skip this approach and reach seven figures through their core business without any coaching component?

Absolutely.

Many of them feel superior for never "stooping" to coaching.

The issue?

They're choosing the difficult path.

Because no matter how you slice it, reaching seven figures via coaching or consulting is significantly simpler than scaling a conventional business past $1M.

How come?

Coaching ventures involve fewer complications, plus the profit margins are substantially better.

Actually, information product margins can exceed traditional business margins by 2-3x.

This means to match a $1M coaching business's profitability, an agency or eCommerce operation would need $2M to $4M in gross revenue.

This explains why virtually every "business influencer" on social platforms follows my described strategy.

Create a traditional business --> Display your lifestyle --> Build a coaching business

Whether you love or hate it, this represents the most straightforward route to your initial $1M.

Additionally, lifestyle showcasing doesn't require rented supercars.

Plenty of people choose the "home-based parent" angle, or the "nomadic couple" approach, earning equivalent amounts.

Actually, the more genuine your "showcase" reflects your true self, the more effective it becomes.

What truly matters is that you:

  • Develop a standard business to a credible success level ($10k for limited-potential areas like freelancing, $25k - $100k for typical business sectors like agencies or eCommerce, etc.)

  • Grow your audience on IG, TikTok or YouTube (preferably from day one, since delayed starts make the process longer)

  • Roll out the coaching component (which doesn't need to be pushy or built on empty promises)

I'm not claiming this is the only method.

It's just the easiest way.

💡 Key Insight: Though many entrepreneurs find success through their primary ventures, in terms of scalability and speed, operating a coaching business that teaches others to launch their initial enterprise remains the most validated approach for reaching elite income levels in a relatively short timeframe.
